We are a nation of pet lovers and when Wiltshire Farm Foods driver Andrew Ledwith adopted a rescue greyhound two years ago, he was inspired to pick up a pencil and draw his canine pal, Desmond.

“When we got Desmond, I started sketching him and he became my muse as I captured his funny moments and daft ways on paper,” says Andrew. “I started to advertise my pet portraits locally and found other people wanted their animals drawn too, everything from dogs and cats to parrots.

Having started work as a Wiltshire Farm Foods driver almost two years ago, Andrew is on the road making deliveries four days each week, which leaves the rest of his time for him to concentrate on his art.

“I love working for Wiltshire Farm Foods as we’re a very sociable group,” he says, “and it’s nice to meet such interesting people as I make my deliveries. Lots of my customers know about my artwork and they’ll often ask what I’m working on at the moment, so I show them pictures of my latest commissions on my phone. I’m lucky to enjoy both parts of my working life.”
